this is a snapshot blog of:

karel appel

An amazing abstract sculpture by Karel Appel (1921-2006) at the School for Graphic Design (Grafisch Lyceum) designed by architect Maaskant in 1970  in Rotterdam. From 1945 until 1970 it was very common to incorporate these type of wall sculptures in building designs. Many of these are badly documented and endangered by demolition or have already been demolished. I have already highlighted a few wonderful examples earlier in this blog and there will be more to come.
