Herzog & de Meuron
Facade detail of the Forum building in Barcelona designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. It houses the Forum Universal de las Culturas. The purple and silver building has a triangular shape which is elevated from the ground. Crevices randomly penetrate the volume. One of the most bizar and outrageous buildings I have ever seen, very different from the austere and poetic designs earlier in their career. Their more recently built Vitra house fits in this line of moving towards an MVRDV type of style.
